Spencer, Obomanu, Hawthorne sign tenders

Center Chris Spencer and wide receiver Ben Obomanu have signed the tenders they were given when they became restricted free agents in February, as has linebacker David Hawthorne – an exclusive-rights free agent.

General manager John Schneider just made those announcements during Q&A session with reporters who cover the team.

Spencer is back at center in the team’s three-day minicamp that ends today, after playing the final three games at right guard last season. Obomanu is working at split end with the No. 1 offense. Hawthorne has played both middle linebacker in full-team drills, as well as outside linebacker in 7-on-7 drills. That’s because middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu has been limited while recovering from pectoral surgery and outside linebacker Leroy Hill has been excused from this camp.
