Seahawk tailback Justin Forsett will be giving you his perspective throughout this week’s minicamp in a daily guest blog. Here’s his first entry to kick off the three-day minicamp, which begins today at Virginia Mason Athletic Center:
I’m very excited for this week. There’s a lot of energy going around so I just want to hurry up and get out there. We’ve been lifting and running for awhile, so it’s going to be great to get together with all the guys and learn the plays and get out on the field and try to get some things done.
It’s been an eventful last three months. We met all the new coaches and then got to work right away with Coach [Chris] Carlisle, Jaime Yanchar and Mondray Gee. It’s been really fun and exciting because everything is more upbeat and we’re doing more running and lifting. We’re feeling a difference. This change has been a good change.
The transition was tough because we had a relationship with the old coaches, but this is a business and decisions have to be made. We have to adjust. And all the guys took the system and we just ran with it. They threw us in there and it was hard at first, but we’re liking what we’re seeing. Everyone’s really excited.
This minicamp should be really cool. Personally, I’m hoping to go out and show the coaches what I can do and try to get these new plays down and learn as much as I can. We’re going to be getting a big load, but I want to show that I’m consistent and can learn the plays and be better overall.
