Kid Wilson Shows Punching Power

Seahawks cornerback Josh Wilson is in the business of breaking up pass plays, not landing or dodging punches, but he still looked comfortable in the ring at White Center Police Activities League (PAL) Club last week.

Wilson stopped by the club to get in a workout and visit with the 25 young men and women who train there every weeknight.

The club is run by local boxing coach and manager Tony Rago and funded by the White Center PAL.

Rago put Wilson through the paces for 30 minutes with club members cheering every move.

“I’m in football shape,”  said Wilson. “But it’ll take me a while to get into ring shape.”

Josh Wilson punches a pad over his head continuously for four minutes.

Wilson has no plans to change careers but admitted to having a great time learning some of the boxing moves.

The White Center PAL will put on a boxing show March 27 at Evergreen High School in Burien. Proceeds will go to help the club travel and compete in tournaments. Call the club at 206/763-7525 for more information.
