Mike Solari is gone, but it didn’t take the veteran offensive line coach long to get a new job – and he didn’t have to go very far.
Solari joined Mike Singletary’s staff with the division rival San Francisco 49ers today, replacing line coach Chris Foerster, who left to be part of Mike Shanahan’s staff with the Washington Redskins.
Solari had been the Seahawks’ line coach the past two seasons.
Singletary was pleased to get a coach with Solari’s experience and background.
“Mike Solari is a guy when I was interviewing for a head coaching job around the league, he was my No. 1 (for offensive line coach),” Singletary told the San Francisco Chronicle. “The fact I can get him at this juncture is a win-win situation. I think things work out for a reason. I like him as a person, first of all. I like the fact where he’s been, the experience he’s had. He has really done a great job when I look at his record.”
