Greetings from the Edward Jones Dome, where the Seahawks are looking to win their first road game since they beat the Rams here last December. In fact, two of the Seahawks’ last four road wins have come in this building.
Today, the Seahawks also will attempt to get their running game going after rushing for a franchise-low 4 yards against the Vikings in Minnesota last week. Whether they will have leading rusher Julius Jones remains to be seen. He bruised a lung two weeks ago against the Cardinals, did not play against the Vikings and was limited in practice this week.
The Seahawks rushed for a season-high 167 yards in their season opener against the Rams at Qwest Field and last week the Rams surrendered 126 rushing yards to the Cardinals – in the first half.
The big question for the 1-9 Rams is Steven Jackson. The former Oregon State back leads the NFC in rushing and total yards from scrimmage, but he was sidelined all week by back spasms.
Being able to run the ball and contain Jackson – if he plays – will be vital if the Seahawks are to snap their six-game road losing streak, and match last season’s win total.
We’ll be back later with the inactive players.
