Leroy Hill’s groin injury is worse than originally indicated and the Seahawks’ starting linebacker will be sidelined until at least after the team’s Week 7 bye, coach Jim Mora just announced during his weekly news conference.
Will Herring will start at weak-side linebacker until Hill can return.
“Fortunately, we have good guys to step in,” Mora said. “But this is disappointing for Leroy and disappointing for the team.”
Mora didn’t get into details on Hill’s injury, but he did say there might be a tear that could potentially need surgery.
In other news, left tackle Walter Jones is scheduled to get some work in practice today and could play in Sunday’s game against the 49ers in San Francisco.
