1992: Tom Flores, who had been the team’s president and general manager, is named president and head coach to replace Chuck Knox. Flores would go 14-34 in three seasons before being replaced by Dennis Erickson.

2002: Trent Dilfer, starting for an injured Matt Hasselbeck, throws two touchdown passes to Darrell Jackson as the Seahawks close their 2001 season with a 21-18 victory over the Chiefs at Husky Stadium. Shaun Alexander also scores on a 44-yard run in the third quarter, as Dilfer runs his record as the starter in ’01 to 4-0 and extends his consecutive victory streak to 15 after quarterbacking the Ravens to a Super Bowl in the 2000 season.

2007: Jordan Babineaux turns in the play that readers of Seahawks.com would vote the play of the decade as he pulls down Tony Romo short of the goal line and a first down after the Cowboys’ holder/QB drops the snap on a game-winning field-goal attempt with 1:14 left in the Seahawks’ 21-20 victory in a Wild Card playoff game in Seattle. Matt Hasselbeck’s second TD pass to Jerramy Stevens with 4½ minutes left in the game gives the Seahawks their one-point lead.

1982: The Patriots intercept four Jim Zorn passes and John Smith kicks three field goals in a 16-0 victory over the Seahawks at the Kingdome.

1993: Rick Mirer’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:22 left gives the Seahawks the lead, but Greg Davis kicks a 55-yard field as time expires to tie the game and then a 41-yarder in overtime to give the Cardinals a 30-27 victory at the Kingdome. Chris Warren runs for 168 yards, including a 45-yard TD.

1999: Glen Cadrez returns a fumble 37 yards for a touchdown in overtime to give the Broncos a 36-30 overtime victory over the Seahawks at Mile High Stadium. Ricky Watters runs for 115 yards and a touchdown and Jon Kitna passes for 278 yards and two TDs in rallying the Seahawks. But the Broncos compile 430 yards of offense and Ray Crockett has the fumble-forcing sack on Kitna that sets up the game-winning score.

2004: The Jets roll up 482 yards of offense, as Curtis Martin runs for 134 yards and two scores and Chad Pennington passes for three TDs, in rolling over the Seahawks 37-14 in The Meadowlands.

2010: Olindo Mare kicks a 38-yard field goal to tie the score at 10, but the Falcons then outscore the Seahawks 24-8 in taking a 34-18 victory in Seattle. The Babineaux brothers each have a big play, as the Falcons’ Jonathan recovers a fumble in the end zone and the Seahawks’ Jordan intercepts a pass.

1986: Dave Krieg passes for four touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter, in outdueling Dan Fouts during a 34-24 victory over the Chargers in San Diego that is part of a five-game winning streak to close the season. Krieg completes 15 of 21 passes for 305 yards and his TD passes went to Steve Largent (two), Darryl Turner (72 yards) and Ray Butler.

1997: Todd Peterson kicks a 49-yard field goal with 2:20 remaining in a 22-21 victory over the Raiders in Oakland. Peterson’s kick caps a 19-point second half for the Seahawks, who trailed 21-3 at halftime. In his first NFL start, Jon Kitna completes 23 of 37 passes – to 10 receivers – for 283 yards and throws an 8-yard TD pass to Joey Galloway.

2003: Shaun Alexander runs for 126 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown, but the Rams hang on for a 27-22 victory in St. Louis.

2006: Frank Gore runs for 144 yards and Alex Smith passes for two touchdowns as the 49ers beat the Seahawks in a Thursday night game in Seattle that is preceded by heavy rain and followed by high winds, a combination that causes power outages throughout the region.

2008: Olindo Mare kicks a 27-yard field goal as time expires to give the Seahawks a 23-20 victory over the Rams in St. Louis. Mare also kicks 50- and 28-yarders, while Jordan Babineaux returns a fumble 24 yards for a TD.

1997: Warren Moon and Joey Galloway hookup on a game-winning 40-yard touchdown pass with 2:20 left in a 37-31 victory over the Chargers in San Diego. But the Seahawks lose Pro Bowl defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy to a season-ending ankle injury.

2003: Wide receiver Rod Gardner throws a 10-yard touchdown pass to running back Trung Canidate with less than two minutes remaining to give the Redskins a 27-20 victory over the visiting Seahawks, who were up 14-3 and then down 20-17 in the game.

2005: Josh Brown kicks a 50-yard field goal as time expires in a 13-10 win over the Cowboys. Jordan Babineaux sets up the game-winner by intercepting a Drew Bledsoe pass and returning it to the Dallas 32-yard line. The win is No. 3 in what becomes a club-record 11-game winning streak.

2011: Red Bryant blocks two field goals, but the Seahawks still fall to the Browns 6-3 in Cleveland. The Seahawks are forced to play without leading rusher Marshawn Lynch (back spasms), QB Tarvaris Jackson (torn pectoral) and center Max Unger (foot). The defense holds the Browns to a pair of field goals, despite being on the field for almost 43 minutes.

A look at the memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Jan. 6:

1992: Tom Flores, who had been the team’s president and general manager, is named president and head coach to replace Chuck Knox.

2007: Jordan Babineaux turns in the play that readers of Seahawks.com would vote the play of the decade as he pulls down Tony Romo short of the goal line and a first down after the Cowboys’ holder/QB drops the snap on a game-winning field-goal attempt with 1:14 left in the Seahawks’ 21-20 victory in a wild-card playoff game in Seattle. Matt Hasselbeck’s second TD pass to Jerramy Stevens with 4½ minutes left in the game gives the Seahawks their one-point lead.

A look at the memorable – and not-so-memorable – moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Dec. 19:

1982: The Patriots intercept four Jim Zorn passes and John Smith kicks three field goals in 16-0 victory over the Seahawks at the Kingdome.

1993: Rich Mirer’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:22 left gives the Seahawks the lead, but Greg Davis kicks a 55-yard field as time expires to tie the game and then a 41-yarder in overtime to give the Cardinals a 30-27 victory at the Kingdome.

1997: Todd Peterson kicks a 49-yard field goal with 2:20 remaining in a 22-21 victory over the Raiders in Oakland. Peterson’s kick caps a 19-point second half for the Seahawks, who trailed 21-3 at halftime.
