A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Dec. 13:

Cortez Kennedy

1980: The Chargers take a 21-0 halftime lead and hold on for a 21-14 victory in San Diego, as Jim Jodat and Steve Largent score second-half touchdowns.

1981: Kenny Easley and John Harris intercept passes and Dave Krieg throws a touchdown pass to David Hughes, but it’s not enough in a 23-13 loss to the Broncos at Mile High Stadium.

1987: Dave Krieg throws three touchdown passes, including two to Ray Butler, and the defense sacks John Elway four times and intercepts him twice in a 28-21 victory over the Broncos at the Kingdome.

1992: Hershel Walker scores a touchdown with less than five minutes to play in regulation to tie the score and Roger Ruzek kicks a 44-yard field goal in overtime to give the Eagles a 20-17 victory over the Seahawks at the Kingdome. The defense sacks Randall Cunningham 10 times, including 2½ by Rufus Porter and Robert Blackmon and two by Cortez Kennedy, but the offense generates only 87 total yards.

1998: Cortez Kennedy returns a fumble 39 yards for a touchdown and the defense also intercepts a club-record seven passes in a 38-17 victory over the Chargers. Jay Bellamy, Darryl Williams and Shawn Springs each have two picks, and Terry McDaniel returns his 43 yards for a touchdown. Jon Kitna passes for one touchdown and runs for another.

2009: Andre Johnson catches 10 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns – in the first half – as the Titans hand the Seahawks a 34-7 loss in Houston.


On this date: Victories in three decades

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Nov. 10:

1985: Jacob Green returns an interception 19 yards for a touchdown, Steve Largent catches five passes for 110 yards and Dave Krieg completes 21 of 28 passes for 282 yards in a 27-3 victory over the Saints at Superdome.

1991: John Carney kicks a career-long 54-yard field goal with 18 seconds remaining as the Chargers grab a 17-14 victory over the Seahawks in San Diego. Dave Krieg throws two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to rally the Seahawks from a 14-0 deficit as part of his 28-of-38, 376-yard passing performance and Brian Blades catches eight passes for 131 yards.

1996: The Seahawks post season highs in points (42), yards (452) and time of possession (37:37) in winning their third consecutive game, 43-23 over the Vikings at the Kingdome. The defense sets up 29 of the points with turnovers, including interceptions by Jay Bellamy and Winston Moss. Rick Tuten also sets a franchise record by placing six punts inside the 20-yard line.

2002:  The Seahawks score all their points in the first half in defeating the Cardinals 27-6 at Sun Devils Stadium. Shaun Alexander runs for two touchdowns and Matt Hasselbeck completes 23 of 31 passes for 260 yards.

On this date: Largent injured in final season

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks’ history that occurred on Sept. 10:

1989 – The Seahawks lose their opener 31-7 in Philadelphia, and Steve Largent for six weeks with a broken elbow. In the final season of his Hall of Fame career, Largent would return to catch 28 passes for 403 yards and three touchdowns before retiring as the NFL’s all-time leader in all three categories (819 for 13,089 and 100).

2000 – The Seahawks play the first of what will be two seasons’ worth of home game at Husky Stadium and lose 37-34 to the Rams on a 27-yard field goal with 23 seconds remaining. A 34-yard touchdown pass from Jon Kitna to Darrell Jackson with 2:05 to play ties the score at 34-34. Jay Bellamy also returns an interception 84 yards for a TD and has 11 tackles. The Seahawks are playing at the University of Washington because the Kingdome had been demolished so their new stadium can be built on the same site.
