1997: After getting a come-check-this-out phone call from just-signed free agent and former Steelers teammate Chad Brown, Willie Williams also signs with the Seahawks and starts 75 games at cornerback over the next seven seasons. Williams would return three of his 17 interceptions for touchdowns, tying him for second in franchise history with Keith Simpson, Kenny Easley and Josh Wilson behind all-time leader Dave Brown (five).
2005: After being named the franchise player for three consecutive years, Walter Jones signs a multi-year contract that makes him a Seahawk for the remainder of his 13-season career.
2006: Linebackers coach John Marshall is elevated to defensive coordinator on Mike Holmgren’s staff as health issues force Ray Rhodes to take a position as a special projects/defense assistant.

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Feb. 14:
1997: On Valentine’s Day, Chad Brown signs a sweetheart of a free-agent contract with the Seahawks. The former Pro Bowl linebacker from the Steelers would be voted to two more Pro Bowls and lead the Seahawks in tackles for three consecutive seasons during his eight-season stint with the Seahawks. When he left after the 2004 season, Brown ranked fourth in franchise history in tackles (744) and fifth in sacks (48), as well as third in fumble recoveries (13) and first in fumble-return yards (96) and fumble returns for touchdowns (3).
1999: Sean Dawkins is signed in free agency. He would share the team lead in receptions in 2000 with Ricky Watters.
On this date: Seahawks help AFC win trio of Pro Bowls

1988: Kenny Easley and Fredd Young provide half the AFC’s four interceptions, as well as eight and seven tackles, in a 15-6 victory in the Pro Bowl. Steve Largent (one reception) and Jacob Green (two tackles) also were on the AFC squad.
1993: Cortez Kennedy and Eugene Robinson combine for nine tackles to help the AFC win the Pro Bowl 23-20 in overtime.
1999: Cortez Kennedy and the “strong side, left side” trio of Michael Sinclair, Chad Brown and Shawn Springs combine for five tackles and three passes defensed to help the AFC claim a 23-10 Pro Bowl victory in what is John Elway’s final game.
2003: Teryl Austin is named defensive backs coach on Mike Holmgren’s staff.

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Feb 6:
1983: Kenny Easley has nine tackles as the Seahawks’ lone AFC Pro Bowl representative in a game won by the NFC 20-19 as Danny White throws a TD pass to John Jefferson with 35 seconds remaining. This is the third of what will be five Pro Bowl berths for Easley.
1994: Eugene Robinson intercepts a pass and Chris Warren leads the AFC with 64 rushing yards, but the NFC wins the Pro Bowl 17-3. Cortez Kennedy also represents the Seahawks in the game and contributes two tackles.
1998: Pete Rodriguez agrees to become special teams coach on Dennis Erickson’s staff.
2000: Walter Jones, Cortez Kennedy (three tackles) and Chad Brown (two tackles on special teams) represent the Seahawks and AFC in the Pro Bowl, but the NFC wins 51-31.
2008: It is announced that assistant head coach/defensive backs Jim Mora will become head coach after the season, which will be the last of Mike Holmgren’s 10 seasons as head coach.

1980: The Seahawks score twice in the fourth quarter, but the rally in their season finale falls short as they lose to the Broncos 25-17 at the Kingdome to cap a nine-game losing streak.
1997: Warren Moon passes for four touchdowns as the Seahawks finish 8-8 by slapping the playoff-bound 49ers with a 38-9 loss in the season finale at the Kingdome. Joey Galloway catches six passes for 101 yards and two scores, while Mike Pritchard has six receptions for 90 yards and a TD. The linebacking crew of Mike Barber, Chad Brown and Dean Wells leads the defensive effort by combining for 25 tackles.
2003: Shaun Alexander runs for 135 yards and two touchdowns, including a 44-yarder, and the defense sacks Cardinals QB Josh McCown eight times in a 28-10 victory in Seattle.
2008: The Seahawks send Mike Holmgren out a winner in his final home game as coach with a 13-3 victory over the Jets on a snowy afternoon in Seattle. Maurice Morris runs for 116 yards and Seneca Wallace passes to John Carlson for the game’s only touchdown, while Josh Wilson intercepts Brett Favre twice.

1980: Steve Largent catches eight passes for 139 yards and a touchdown, but Billy Taylor scores on a 30-yard run to cap a 14-point fourth quarter as the Giants post a 27-21 victory at the Kingdome.
1997: Jermaine Lewis returns punts 89 and 66 yards for touchdowns and adds a 29-yard TD catch as the Ravens score the final 14 points in taking a 31-24 victory over the Seahawks at old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. Chad Brown returns a fumble 42 yards for a TD, but gets a concussion that sidelines him for the next game.
2003: Randy Moss scores on touchdown passes of 47 and 45 yards from Daunte Culpepper in the Vikings’ 34-7 victory at the Metrodome. Shaun Alexander runs 1 yard for the Seahawks’ only score.
2008: Seneca Wallace throws three touchdown passes and also leads the Seahawks with 47 rushing yards, but Sammy Morris scores on a 1-yard run with 2:44 left to play to give the Matt Cassel-led Patriots a 24-21 victory in Seattle.

1981: Jim Zorn passes for two touchdowns, Theotis Brown runs for two more and Dan Doornink has a rushing and a receiving TD in a 44-23 victory over the Chargers at the Kingdome, despite a 151-yard, two-TD performance by San Diego’s Chuck Muncie. Linebackers Michael Jackson (15) and Joe Norman (13) combine for 28 tackles.
1997: Doug Brien kicks a 48-yard field goal in overtime as the Saints pull out a 20-17 victory at the Superdome. Darryl Williams leads the Seahawks’ defensive effort by returning an interception 44 yards for a touchdown, while Sam Adams has two sacks and Chad Brown recovers two fumbles.
2003: Bobby Engram returns a punt 83 yards for one touchdown and catches a 34-yard pass for another in a 34-14 win over the Lions in Seattle. Koren Robinson also recovers a fumble in the end zone for a TD, while Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck run for scores.
2008: T.J. Duckett runs for two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but it’s not enough in a 26-20 loss to the Cardinals in Seattle as the Seahawks run for 43 yards and Matt Hasselbeck throws three interceptions. Josh Wilson has 10 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble in the loss.

1987: The Seahawks force five turnovers and the defense shuts out the Packers in the second half of a 24-13 victory at the Kingdome. Curt Warner runs for 123 yards, including a 57-yard touchdown; while Eugene Robinson returns a blocked punt for a score.
1992: The defense holds the Raiders to 188 yards, but the offense generates only a 43-yard field goal by John Kasay late in the fourth quarter of a 20-3 loss in Los Angeles.
1998: Joey Galloway returns a punt 56 yards for a touchdown and Chad Brown has two sacks in his 10-tackle effort, but Greg Davis kicks a 38-yard field goal with 21 seconds remaining to give the Raiders a 20-17 victory in Oakland.
2009: Matt Hasselbeck throws 52 passes in 315-yard passing performance, T.J. Houshmandzadeh catches nine passes for 165 yards and Justin Forsett runs for 123 yards and a touchdown, but the Cardinals score 14 points in the fourth quarter to take a 31-20 victory in Arizona.

A look at some memorable moments in Seahawks history that occurred on Nov. 8:
1981: The Seahawks hold the Steelers scoreless in the second half while rallying for a 24-21 victory at the Kingdome as Theotis Brown scores on a pair of 1-yard runs in the fourth quarter. The defensive effort is led by safety John Harris and end Mike White, who have 11 tackles each.
1992: Chris Warren runs for 103 yards, but it’s not enough to prevent the Redskins from posting a 16-3 victory over the Seahawks at the Kingdome – loss No. 6 in an eight-game losing streak during Seattle’s 2-14 season.
1998: Ricky Watters runs for 105 yards and two touchdowns in 24-12 victory over the Chiefs at the Kingdome. Linebacker Darrin Smith also returns one of the Seahawks’ three interceptions 26 yards for a TD, while linebacker Chad Brown also intercepts a pass and has two sacks among his nine tackles.
2009: Olindo Mare kicks four field goals and Josh Wilson returns one of the Seahawks’ five interceptions 61 yards for a touchdown in a 32-20 victory over the Lions in Seattle. Linebacker David Hawthorne has two interceptions and nine tackles.
