A recap of the Seahawks’ practice at Bing Training Camp:
FOCUS ON
Aaron Curry. Last year’s first-round draft choice had perhaps his most active practice of camp, and afterward credited some advice he got from linebackers coach Ken Norton, Jr. and defensive assistant Mike Phair.
“They both kind of told me the same thing as far as how I’m going to play – just go out there and be fast and be physical, and cancel all the thinking and just do what comes natural,” said Curry, the team’s starting strong-side ’backer who also will be used as a rush-end in the nickel.
“When they both told me that, it kind of reinsured the fact that they’re starting to gain confidence in me as a player. It’s not really letting me freelance, but it’s allowing me to just be myself.”
Curry took those words to heart, and then took it to the offense.

Plays of the day
Here are the highlights from Wednesday’s practice on Day 19 of Bing Training Camp:
- Receiver Deon Butler made a great adjustment on an underthrown deep pass to record a catch on what appeared to be a sure interception.
- Tailback Julius Jones ran a nice route to get open for a catch downfield.
- During team period, Matt Hasselbeck hit Deon Butler on a deep pass along the right sideline, with the receiver making a well-played move to remain open.
- In team drills, the offensive line created a massive hole for tailback Justin Forsett, who shot through the line for a huge gain, going untouched until he was wrapped up 15 yards downfield.
- On a pass play, linebacker Dexter Davis got in Charlie Whitehurst’s face, jumped up and batted down a pass, almost intercepting it in the process.
- Matt Hasselbeck connected with wideout Mike Williams on a softly floated deep ball down the left sideline.
