Good morning, and here’s what’s “out there” for today, Wednesday, July 3, about your Seattle Seahawks:
With the help of his close family and friends, cornerback Richard Sherman has announced the launch of “Blanket Coverage – The Richard Sherman Family Foundation.” The All-Pro, Stanford graduate says the foundation will “channel it’s resources to ensure that as many children as possible are provided with proper school supplies and adequate clothing.”
On his Facebook fan page, Sherman announced a formal dinner to kick the foundation off on Saturday, July 6 at the Columbia Tower Club in downtown Seattle. Special guests include head coach Pete Carroll, quarterback Russell Wilson, and more. It is a VIP event, but general admission tickets are available for $125, with all proceeds going back to “Blanket Coverage.” One day later, on Sunday, July 7, Sherman will host his celebrity softball game for charity at Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium, and we’ll have “blanket coverage” from that event here on Seahawks.com.
