The deal has been in the works for awhile, but today it became official – strong safety Kam Chancellor has signed a four-year extension with the Seahawks.
In a press conference announcing the extension today, general manager John Schneider said it was the team’s “absolute number one priority” this offseason to lock up Chancellor for years to come. Remember, that’s an offseason that has included the signings of several high-profile players like wide receiver Percy Harvin, defensive ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett, as well as cornerback Antoine Winfield. Yet it’s Chancellor that headlines the offseason for Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll.
You can check out the full press conference with comments from Schneider, Carroll and Chancellor here, and we leave you with the reaction from several Seahawks players as they caught wind of their teammate’s big news.
