Pro Bowl: First-half reflections

Earl Thomas

HONOLULU – The Seahawks’ Six, led by Marshawn Lynch, had an impact on the first half of today’s Pro Bowl game, with the NFC holding a 31-14 lead heading to the locker rooms at Aloha Stadium.

Lynch made the most of his limited touches, while Leon Washington was very active.

Washington had kickoff returns of 28, 25 and 22 yards and punt returns of 14, 12 and minus-2 yards. On his negative-yardage return, he lateraled the ball to teammate Earl Thomas, who was stopped for an additional 11-yard loss.

Lynch, meanwhile, scored on a 1-yard run with 1:41 to play for the NFC’s third touchdown of the day – the only rushing TD of the first half. He also had runs of 6 and 12 yards on the drive to the NFC’s second TD. Center Max Unger and tackle Russell Okung, who was playing on the right side, also were on the field for the 10-play, 73-yard drive. Lynch’s 12-yard was typically Lynch, as he was hit early but kept driving to pick up the first down on a third-and-10 play.

Thomas also knocked Reggie Wayne out of bounds after a 1-yard gain on the AFC’s first offensive play.

Rookie QB Russell Wilson did not play in the first half.
