Russell Wilson’s week of awards continues.
The Seahawks’ rookie quarterback has been named FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week, it was announced today. Wilson was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
That will happen when you complete 23 of 37 passes for 293 yards and direct a 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in overtime to beat the favored Bears in Chicago. Wilson’s 14-yard TD pass to Golden Tate gave the Seahawks a 17-14 lead with 24 seconds to play, and capped a 12-play, 97-yard drive. After the Bears tied the score on a field goal as time expired in regulation, Wilson led the drive that ended with his 13-yard TD pass to Sidney Rice.
Because of Wilson’s win – his first in the weekly FedEx category – Junior Achievement in Seattle will be awarded a $2,000 donation in his name.
