Jason Jones practiced all week and now will play in today’s game against the Jets at CenturyLink Field.
Jones had missed the previous two games against the Lions and Vikings because of an ankle injury and coach Pete Carroll credited his absence as the three-technique tackle in the nickel line to the lack of a consistent pass rush – two sacks, in 49 pass attempts, against the Lions; four sacks against the Vikings last week.
“Jason is back in, which is great,” Carroll said on Friday. “We’re thrilled to have him back. We’ve missed him for the past two weeks, so it’s going to be hopefully a factor in our pass-rush situations.”
But the Seahawks won’t have linebacker K.J. Wright, their leading tackler until he got a concussion on the first series of the game last week; and left guard James Carpenter, who got a concussion earlier in the week and did not play against the Vikings. They were ruled out on Friday, and will be replaced by Mike Morgan and John Moffitt.
Cornerback Walter Thurmond, who was added to the 53-man roster this week, is inactive as well.
Also inactive for the Seahawks:
SS Winston Guy
DE Greg Scruggs
DT Clinton McDonald
OT Mike Person
