November marks military appreciation month around the NFL and on Sunday, November 11 when the Seahawks take on the New York Jets at CenturyLink Field there will be plenty of opportunities for fans to show their support.
“Cell Phones for Soliders” is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services to active duty military members and veterans. The organization is fueled by the donation of gently-used cell phones and the proceeds from recycling those phones allow the program to provide free calling cards to troops.
At this weekend’s game against the Jets fans are invited to bring their own gently-used cell phones – no matter how old – for donation to help sponsor a soldier’s call home. Two Humvee’s will be set up around the stadium – one right outside the entrance to CenturyLink Field Event Center’s “Touchdown City”, and the other outside the NorthWest corner of the stadium near will call – collecting your donations. There will also be volunteers set up at all gates to collect your donations.
