In a nutshell: Lions 7-3. The Seahawks drove 72 yards in 13 plays on their first possession to a 23-yard field goal by Steve Hauschka. The Lions actually stopped them after five plays, but an illegal-formation penalty on Willie Young for lining up over the center gave the Seahawks a first down. Russell Wilson was 7 of 8 for 55 yards. But the Lions took the ensuing kickoff and went 86 yards in nine plays to a 6-yard TD pass from Matthew Stafford to Ryan Broyles on the final play of the quarter.
Player of the quarter: Stafford. After Wilson drove the Seahawks to a field goal, the Lions QB did that one better with the drive to the TD.
Plays of the quarter: On consecutive snaps, the Lions got 16, 19 and 20 yards on their TD drive. Mikel Leshoure ran for 16. Stafford then passed for 19 to Broyles and 20 to Tony Scheffler.
