In a nutshell: Rams 13-7, as they scored 10 points in the final 71 seconds of the half. The Rams got the ball into the end zone with 1:11 left in the half, and in the most unusual way as holder Johnny Hekker passed 2 yards to Danny Amendola on a fake field goal. After a 31-yard punt by Jon Ryan, Greg Zuerlein kicked a 48-yard field on the final play of the half.
Player of the quarter: Hekker. Just when it appeared the Seahawks were going to hold the Rams to a field goal at the end of the half – and hold their lead – the rookie punter/holder passed for the go-ahead score to Amendola, who was wide open in the right side of the end zone.
Play of the quarter: The TD pass, of course. But it was set up by Trumaine Johnson’s interception of a Russell Wilson’s third-down pass that went off Doug Baldwin after the Seahawks’ reached the Rams’ 49-yard line.
Number of the quarter: 3. As in third downs. As in the Seahawks allowed the Rams to convert on third-and-13, third-and-14 and third-and-10 on their first two scoring drives in the first half.
