Quarter notes: First

In a nutshell: Seahawks 7-3. Marshawn Lynch scored on an 18-yard run as the Seahawks put together their first game-opening TD drive of the season, an eight-play, 80-yarder that included no third downs. Rookie QB Russell Wilson was 3 of 3 for 40 yards, while Lynch carried four times for 32 yards. The Rams answered with a franchise-record 58-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein to cap a 10-play, 40-yard drive.

Player of the quarter: Wilson was 5 of 5 for 55 yards in the quarter and also ran once for 8 yards on the TD drive.

Play of the quarter: There was Lynch’s TD run, but there also was the last play of the quarter as Chris Givens got behind Richard Sherman for a 52-yard reception to the Seahawks’ 23-yard line.

Number of the quarter: 24. Lynch’s uniform number. He scored the TD and also carried seven times for 35 yards.
