In a nutshell: Rookie QB Russell Wilson took over for Matt Flynn and gave the Seahawks a 17-3 lead with a TD pass to Braylon Edwards. But the Titans pulled even as Darius Reynaud scored twice in a three-minute span.
Player of the quarter: Reynaud. The Titans’ backup running back and punt returner got the Titans back in the game with a 21-yard TD run to cap a seven-play, 84-yard drive and then his 85-yard punt return for a score.
Play of the quarter: The first TD pass of Wilson’s NFL career, even if it was in the preseason opener. On a second-and-5 play, Wilson got off a nice throw toward the goal line and Edwards made an even better catch by going up and over Tommie Campbell.
Number of the quarter: 39. In addition to being Reynaud’s number, it was the length of Wilson’s TD pass to Edwards and Rusty Smith’s completion to Marc Mariani against Byron Maxwell that sparked the Titans’ TD drive on the ensuing series.
