The Seahawks just selected Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson in the third round of the NFL Draft.
The selection was made with the 12th pick in the round, No. 75 overall.
Wilson is only 5 feet 11, but had very productive stints at Wisconsin last season and at North Carolina State before that. Wilson also was selected in the MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies.
Wilson discussed his background at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Wilson joins West Virginia pass rusher Bruce Irvin (first round) and Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner (second round) as the Seahawks’ picks in the first two days of the draft.
The draft concludes on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. with the final four rounds, and the Seahawks holding seven picks – two in the fourth, sixth and seventh rounds and one in the fifth rounds. They acquired four of these picks by trading down in the first and second rounds.
