No rest for the weary

The short game week between road trips might have the most profound impact on the Seahawks equipment staff. With just three full days at home between trips to Minnesota and Oakland, the equipment crew has faced an unusual crunch as they quickly unpack and re-pack just as fast. “It’s definitely a quick turnaround,” head equipment [...]

Preparing like usual

Traditionally, the fourth and final preseason game is a glorified scrimmage for NFL teams as starters sit and reserves play. Coach Pete Carroll doesn’t like that mindset, and he’s making it clear to his players this week to keep them tuned in to the preparation process that’s building into the 2010 regular season. “We need [...]

A look ahead

On Tuesday, the Seahawks will move through a typical in-season daily schedule for the only time all week, thanks to the condensed game week leading up to the Raiders matchup on Thursday. Here’s a look at the team’s agenda for Tuesday: 6:30-8:30 a.m. • Breakfast 7 a.m. • Weightlifting 8 a.m. • Special teams meeting [...]

Seahawks at Minnesota: Preseason 3 on the road.

Head coach Pete Carroll looked forward to taking his team on the road for the first time as the Seahawks headed to Minnesota to face the Vikings for the third preseason game of the year. The Seahawks, including receivers T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Golden Tate and Deion Branch boarded the team’s charter to Minnesota on Friday afternoon. [...]

Monday in Hawkville

A recap of the day’s activities: FOCUS ON Chester Pitts. The Seahawks’ on-the-mend offensive lineman got some snaps at left tackle this afternoon during the team’s 55-minute walk-thru. Pitts also will dress for Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Raiders in Oakland, but not play. These developments that seem minor are indeed major because Pitts [...]

Dropping down to 75

To set their 75-man roster limit before Tuesday’s NFL deadline, the Seahawks have waived defensive end Ricky Foley, wide receiver Kole Heckendorf, guard Gregg Peat and kicker Clint Stitser. The club also waived/injured defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis. The Seahawks will cut down to the 53-man regular season roster by Sept. 4.

Blue day

The Seahawks defense reviews plays during a brief walk-thru on a beautiful afternoon at Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

All-access pass

Walking the walk

Players are breaking from meetings and heading out to the field for a quick walk-thru that’ll be used to introduce the Raiders game plan. Kickoff is just 72 hours away, so it’s as if the Seahawks are cramming for a quiz over the next few days. Coaches want today’s workout, scheduled to be an hour-long [...]

On the road again

If it seems like the Seahawks just returned from Minnesota and are hitting the road again, it’s because, well, that’s actually happening. The team has just three full days in Seattle this week between the Minnesota and Oakland road trips, making just about everything at Seahawks headquarters a whirlwind as unpacking, packing and game preparation [...]
