Always working
As expected, Virginia Mason Athletic Center is awfully quiet today — except for a repetitive banging noise. With players and coaches off through July, the Seahawks training facility has cleared out, save for a select few who are making their presence known. A slew of rookies and a handful of veterans are grinding away in [...]
Carroll to go on book tour
Coach Pete Carroll is spending his vacation a little differently than other coaches. He’s going on tour. To promote his new book, “Win Forever,” Carroll is going on a 10-day cross-country tour, including three days in the Seattle area. Check out the various stops on the tour and pre-order a copy of his book here.
Ellison back on Seahawks roster
And just like that, Kevin Ellison is back in Seattle. Five days after being waived by the Seahawks, the second-year safety has been signed by the organization. The Seahawks have released defensive tackle Barrett Moen and replaced him on the roster with defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis, the team announced this afternoon. Lewis was originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth-round (177th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. He has also spent time with Oakland, Seattle, Detroit, Jacksonville and Cleveland, before [...]
Wrapping up their work
Squeezing in some last-minute film study before leaving for vacation, defensive line coach Dan Quinn (left), defensive coordinator Gus Bradley (middle) and Coach Pete Carroll (right) gather around a TV in Quinn’s office this morning to watch tape of Wednesday’s practice.
Ecstatic about the offseason’s results
At his first team meeting with the Seahawks back in February, Coach Pete Carroll challenged his players to have “the best offseason of their lives.” Mission accomplished. Following Wednesday’s minicamp- and offseason-concluding practice, Carroll commended his players for the work they put in on the practice field, in the weight room and in the meeting [...]
Summer vacation
School’s out for the summer. Well, something like that. Virginia Mason Athletic Center has settled into a summertime slumber, as the Seahawks have broken for a five-week vacation that began following the conclusion of this week’s minicamp on Wednesday. Here are a few notes surrounding the holiday: Coaches and players are on break until the [...]
